The quarterfinal match of the Kosovo Cup in basketball between Baksimi and Peja was interrupted after unacceptable incidents by fans at the "Sezai Surroi" gym in Prizren.
Spectators threw objects onto the court, causing the game to be interrupted and alarming the players and technical staff. The score at that moment was 32-21 in favor of the Union.
As a result of these actions, Peja basketball player Dardan Berisha suffered head injuries from blows and objects thrown by the audience, forcing the Peja team to leave the court towards the locker room.
"Our basketball player Dardan Berisha's head was injured by the public's blows and throws in Prizren. For the safety of our players, the team is leaving for the locker rooms," the Peja club said in a statement.
Club authorities and match organizers are assessing the situation to determine further measures and the safety of players and the public.
The return match will take place at the "Karagaçi" gym, where a safe environment for both teams is expected to be guaranteed. /Telegraph/
