Major operators in Albania have today blocked access to the TikTok platform, following an order issued by the National Cyber Security Authority.
According to figures, Albanian users of this application are estimated at 1.5 million.
The National Cyber Security Authority in cooperation with the Electronic Communications Agency have asked internet companies to take measures to block access to TikTok on Albanian territory by Thursday (March 13).
The request comes after the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama's decision to close the application, taking into account the suggestions of parents.
Meanwhile, two days later, on March 15, Sali Berisha called a protest against the government's decision to block TikTok.
The ban was taken for the safety of children, while the platform is expected to reopen again the first time the company guarantees filters to protect young people from videos with violent messages. /Telegrafi/
