"Last time it didn't go well", the Inter star admits he doesn't know how to prepare for the duel against Yamal
Alessandro Bastoni has said that Inter must be in top form to overcome Lamine Yamal and Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.
Inter and Barcelona will meet in the Champions League semi-finals after eliminating Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund respectively this week.
It will be a fiery clash between the leaders of Italy and Spain, but Bastoni has admitted he will have a difficult time keeping Lamine Yamal calm throughout the two matches.
While Bastoni has become one of the best defenders in European football, he has no concrete idea how to approach the match against Yamal.
The pair have only met once before, when Yamal's Spain triumphed 1-0 over Italy in the Euro 2024 group stage.
"I don't know because the last time in the Euros it didn't go so well. Barcelona has a clean identity, they can leave some spaces, but we have to defend as a team against them."
"We have already faced world-class strikers. Michael Oliseh and Leroy Sane with Bayern and Arsenal during the league stage. We need 100 percent attention if we want to cause them problems."
"Potentially, we could finish second in all three competitions, but at the start of the season, we had signed up to be top of the table and advance to the Coppa Italia and the semi-finals of the Champions League."
