The ambassadors of the 27 member states of the European Union unanimously decided to open negotiations for the fifth chapter, which includes the Agriculture and Cohesion sector for Albania.

This chapter is considered one of the final stages of the accession process, marking a key moment on Albania's path towards the European Union.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) in Brussels, where representatives of member states reaffirmed their commitment to Albania's advancement in the negotiation process.

With this decision, Albania advances towards completing all open chapters and further approximation to European standards and laws, reports euronews.al.

The fifth chapter group includes key policies in the field of agriculture, rural development, management of European funds and social and economic cohesion, which are the main pillars for sustainable development and improving the lives of citizens.

European experts have assessed Albania's progress in these areas, while the country is expected to benefit from structural funds and invest in rural development and agricultural infrastructure.
