The issue of waste in the capital, VV blames Rama and LDK
The Vetevendosje Movement branch has blamed the mayor of Pristina and the Democratic League of Kosovo for the situation created in the capital due to the lack of waste collection.

In a press conference today, the assemblyman of the Vetëvendosje Movement in Pristina, Feim Osmani, said that the Municipality of Pristina and the Pastrimi company are unable to coordinate to resolve the situation.

"We think that the Municipality of Pristina is just as guilty as the management of the company. These two are not finding opportunities for cooperation and are not coordinating towards immediate and urgent steps that will get the situation out of the way and return to Pristina what it deserves - its cleanliness... Neither President Rama nor LDK has ever taken this issue seriously. While PDK and LDK were in coalition together, both supported all the wrong proposals and actions brought by the management of the municipality of Pristina. In 2023, they voted together to change the old regulation, which also introduced an opportunity for private operators to be engaged in Pristina. This situation did not get Pristina out of the rubble but made the situation even worse," said Osmani.

The Vetëvendosje assemblyman said that the Municipality of Pristina should enable the implementation of the assembly's decision to amend the regulation that returns the right to collect invoices to the company.

He said that proposals to resolve this situation are starting with the immediate resignation of the management of the Pastrimi enterprise.

In addition, according to Osmani, the municipality should as soon as possible unblock the funds it has collected from paying invoices, the value of which is around 600 thousand euros, and return them to the company.

"The municipality must enable the implementation of the assembly's decision to amend the regulation that returns the right to collect invoices to the enterprise and for this to be done by the municipality of Pristina as was done until the last vote by the assembly... We also have proposals for a solution to the situation, which we believe is the first and of course the most important step is the immediate resignation of the enterprise's management to clear the way for the creation of another management... The municipality should as soon as possible unblock the funds it has collected from the payment of invoices, the value of which so far is around 600 thousand euros, and these funds should be returned to the enterprise for debt repayment, salary payments and other aspects. The last step is the urgent coordination of these steps between the municipality and the enterprise, and opening the way to get out of the situation before an epidemic or serious disease spreads," Osmani emphasized.

The Pastrimi company has stopped collecting waste in Pristina. As a result, the containers in the capital are overflowing. The stoppage of waste collection has caused great dissatisfaction among citizens. /kp/Telegrafi/
