It looks like a carpet from the way it was removed, but in reality, this is the asphalt layer from the road segment adjacent to the bridge, removed after the floods that hit the Drenas Municipality days ago.

While the water has removed the asphalt layer a few meters below, only part of the track remains at the bridge in the village of Dobroshec, thus making the road impassable.

This segment leads to the "Ademaj" neighborhood, whose residents' daily lives have already been complicated.

"It's been really bad for us, yes, we have a solution, but we need to go about 7 km to get there, 3 and a half this way and 3 and a half that way to get over a high bridge because this is impassable. The worst thing is the work of the students, because there are 15 elementary school students that the community took every time to take them to school and brought them and now they don't even care about this, we need to send the students somewhere to find a solution, but I had begged the authorities to do something and I believe it will be done", declared Veli Ademi - Resident of the village of Dobroshec.

"It is very difficult for us because we have to travel an additional three and a half kilometers to get to the other bridge, which will cause us more expenses. I invite the mayor to come and see if this is passable. I believe they will take measures and we will see in the coming days," he further emphasized.

According to the contract awarded by the Municipality of Drenas in July 2022, the works were carried out by the company 'Fer-Petroll', while this segment was among the 8 roads that were to be completed by the company over a two-year period.

The value of the project was 249 thousand 955 euros and 70 cents.

Article 34, which also mentions liability for defects, states that the contractor will be responsible for eliminating defects and damages arising from the use of faulty materials or actions or omissions during the period of defects.

According to the contract, the warranty period for defects is two years. (photo of the defects)

In the road segment in Dobroshec, details of the operator's work are shown, from the 8.0-centimeter asphalt layer to the supply, laying and compaction of gravel, which according to the contract, is specified at a thickness of 20 centimeters. (photo details of the work).

For the segment "Dobroshec - Old Çikatovo", the value of the works reached the amount of 9.984 euros.

However, the Municipality of Drenas denies that the damage is related to the poor quality of the works.

"During the execution of the works, there was technical supervision, both during the construction phase and after the completion of the works, in accordance with the applicable standards. The reason for the damage to the asphalt is related to the recent floods and the extraordinary amount of water. Given that this section represents one of the narrowest points of the Drenas gorge, the great water pressure, unprecedented, has directly affected the damage to the road. Technically, in such conditions it is impossible for the asphalt to remain intact on its base. As can be seen on the ground, the damage did not come as a result of the poor quality of the works, as the asphalt and the base have been completely separated and not fragmented, which indicates the influence of external natural forces. In the future, this section will be treated with increased care, considering the possibility of concreting both sides of the road as well as installing additional outlets to overcome the waters, in order to reduce the pressure on the asphalt base", declared Endrit Gllareva – Director of the Infrastructure Directorate.

TV Dukagjini has also attempted to get a response from the company responsible for the project, but the same company has not responded to the inquiry.
