The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the acting Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, together with the Mayor of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, participated in the inauguration of the Hemodialysis Department at the Specialist Polyclinic in Podujeva. This service is now being offered for the first time in the municipality of Podujeva. Until now, patients from this municipality have received treatment in Pristina.

The department has 15 digitalized and antibacterial beds, 16 new modern hemodialysis machines (produced in 2025), osmosis for the supply of clean, absolutely deionized water for the dialysis process, and two separate rooms for those who are infected and need hemodialysis. The total investment value is 343,200 euros and is part of the investments for the expansion and modernization of dialysis services in the country.

"This is very good news for all patients and families of patients who need hemodialysis. As we learned from Dr. Mimoza, 32 patients are treated with this service, but of course it will work in two shifts, since it is expected that there will be even more patients than that, because our compatriots, our expatriates, who are on vacation in their homeland, will also be able to be treated here," the Prime Minister said.

The Mayor of Podujeva Municipality, Shpejtim Bulliqi, said that this is a special moment for the citizens of Podujeva Municipality because from today onwards, the 32 patients who need this service do not need to travel from different parts of the municipality to Pristina to receive this service. He thanked the government and the Ministry of Health for the support provided, while announcing that other specialist services are expected to be launched in this municipality soon.

The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, called the inauguration of the Hemodialysis Department today an extraordinary example of cooperation between the Municipality of Podujeva, the Ministry of Health and the ShSKUK.
