The trial for the fire at the "Pulse" discotheque in Kocani, where 63 people lost their lives and over 200 were injured, will continue today in the Idrizovo court with opening statements from the defense.

Today's hearing continues with opening statements from the defense of the 26th defendant, Shefket Haziri from the Ministry of Economy, after yesterday's hearing saw the defense of the defendants, former ministers of economy and directors of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, deny guilt and oppose the indictment, claiming that they had neither legal authority nor factual power to influence the tragic outcome of the fire, caused by pyrotechnics unsuitable for a closed room and used in violation of the pyrotechnics law.


The case, in which 63 people died and over 200 others were injured, is being conducted under increased security measures, with the presence of the accused, relatives of the victims and numerous journalists. /Telegraph/
