The great coach rejects Man United's offer to take over the club

Manchester United have suffered a blow in their pursuit of one of their top targets for the managerial position, following the sacking of Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils parted ways with Amorim on Monday, a day after a 1-1 draw with Leeds at Elland Road. United were sixth in the Premier League at the time of his departure, and the decision came just days after a tense meeting with sporting director Jason Wilcox.
The Portuguese coach, who won just 38.1% of his matches in charge of United, is expected to receive a substantial compensation, as his contract was valid until June 2027.
Former United midfielder Darren Fletcher will be promoted from the Under-18 team and will take charge of the club on an interim basis while the board considers a number of candidates to take over the position permanently.
Oliver Glasner, Andoni Iraola, Enzo Maresca, Thomas Tuchel, Marco Silva, Mauricio Pochettino and Xavi Hernandez are all mentioned as potential candidates for the job.
There have also been reports of interest in former Inter coach Simone Inzaghi, who won Serie A in 2024 and led the Nerazzurri to two Champions League finals.

Inzaghi took charge of Al Hilal in the summer and guided them to the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup, following a dramatic 4-3 victory over Manchester City.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, United "had requested information" about Inzaghi, but the Italian coach wants to stay in Riyadh, having signed a two-year contract until June 2025.
It is believed that Manchester United are aiming to appoint a caretaker manager until the end of the season and wait until the summer to bring in a permanent successor to Amorim.
It has also been widely reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the favourite to take over for a second time.Telegrafi/
