Five mistakes that many people make after eating a meal

Did you know that neither showering nor napping after eating is supposed to be good? Let's see why you shouldn't do that.

Showering, eating fruit, and sleeping are just some of the things you should avoid after a meal because they are said to be harmful to digestion.

People often like to take a nap after eating, so on weekends we go back to bed after lunch. Some, however, like to light a cigarette, while others have the habit of drinking a cup of tea because they believe it will help them digest their food.

However, many of these habits do you more harm than good. Here are five things you should avoid immediately after a meal.

Overnight

This is not recommended at all, as the meal will not be digested properly if you go to bed immediately after eating. Napping right after a meal is also not relaxing.

smoking

They say that smoking after a meal is the equivalent of smoking ten cigarettes. Whether it's true or not, smoking is bad for your body in any case.

Taking a shower

Showering after a meal slows down digestion. Blood around the stomach flows to other parts of the body during the shower instead of helping with digestion.

Fruit consumption

Different foods are digested at different rates. Eat fruit first because it is the easiest to digest. Fruit should be eaten one hour before or two hours after a meal. Fruit does not digest well if eaten immediately after a meal.

Tea consumption

Tea is acidic and interferes with the digestive process. If you consume protein with your meal, the acid from the tea will solidify the protein content, making it more difficult to digest. Drinking tea immediately after a meal will also interfere with the body's absorption of iron. Avoid tea an hour before and after meals.
