The first victim is registered in Durrës, the Vjosa River reaches the critical point of over 9 meters

For three days, many areas of Albania have continued to be flooded due to heavy rainfall, causing significant damage.
This Thursday, the first victim from the bad weather was also recorded. A 54-year-old man was found without signs of life in a drainage canal near the former Military Department. It is initially suspected that citizen AH was swept away by the water current.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the most problematic situation is in the districts of Shkodër, Lezhë, Durrës, Fier, Berat and Gjirokastër, while in other districts the situation is under monitoring or without risk.
In some areas of Elbasan and in the north, the rain has turned into snowfall, which has caused traffic difficulties on many roads.
Meanwhile, in Vlora, the level of the Vjosa has exceeded 9 meters, 13 families have been evacuated near the Mifoli Bridge and in Novosela.
