The first E-Book in Kosovo is published

Telegrafi learns that the National ISBN Agency, which operates within the National and University Library of Kosovo, has released the first ISBN for an electronic book (E-Book).

E-Book or electronic book requires equipment with a special ISBN number by which it is distinguished from traditional publications. ISBN number 978-9951-641-00-5 has been assigned to the e-book "In search of exit" written by Albatros Rexhaj and published by "Urban Philosophy" Publishing House.

This book is of the drama genre and has been published in PDF and EPUB electronic formats suitable for reading on computers, on tablets such as IPAD, but also on phones with iOS or Android platforms. The Publishing House "Urban Philosophy" aims to specialize in the publication of electronic books.

The ISBN system was developed at a time when computers became important and necessary in the world. Such an international number was an ideal solution in the age of computerization. Thus, for various needs in the book circulation process, instead of making long bibliographic descriptions, the number with just a few digits is sufficient.

The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) system at the international level began to operate at the beginning of 1970. This system was developed and continues to be developed, maintained and coordinated over the years by the International ISBN Agency.

About 160 countries of the world are actively integrated in the ISBN system, among them, since 2001, there is also Kosovo.

The National ISBN Agency operates within the National and University Library of Kosovo. It continuously supports the publishers of Kosovo for their integration into the ISBN system and equipping their publications with this number. /Telegraph/
