The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, issued the decree on Friday for the distribution of The parliament of Kosovo, after the failure of MPs to elect the country's new president.
In a press conference, Osmani stated that the failure to vote for the president in Thursday night's session has made the announcement of new elections inevitable.
She emphasized that the situation could have been avoided, criticizing political representatives who, according to her, did not act in the interests of citizens.
"This situation was completely avoidable. It is a great misfortune that those representatives did not choose the interests of the people," said Osmani.
The President described as irresponsible the fact that the Assembly failed to elect a new head of state and warned that the country is entering a new electoral cycle at a time when political stability is essential.
"No one should want another political cycle, especially at this moment when the country needs stability. But irresponsible people with dangerous intentions brought the country here," she declared. /Telegrafi/
