The Municipality of Shkodra has announced that the hydrological situation in the area is under continuous monitoring following the start of controlled discharges from hydropower plants in the Drin River cascade.
According to the announcement, the Albanian Electric Power Corporation (KESH) has announced that since this morning, discharges have begun from the Fierza, Koman and Vau i Dejës hydropower plants. As a result of these discharges, an increase in the levels of the Drin and Buna rivers, as well as Lake Shkodra, has been observed.
