Kosovo Police have arrested the Director of Culture, Youth and Sports in the Municipality of Mitrovica, Fahri Jashari, for the criminal offense of "Abuse of official position or authority" and "Forgery of an official document".
Jashari was dismissed from his position today, 08.09.2025, by the mayor, Bedri Hamza.
According to the Police announcement, during the investigative procedures, evidence related to a subsidy contract was obtained.
"During the investigative procedures, evidence was obtained related to a subsidy contract, where it is suspected that its value was illegally interfered with, causing damage to the public budget. The suspect was interviewed in the presence of the defense attorney and, after consultation with the competent prosecutor, a 48-hour police detention measure was imposed on him," the announcement states.
