The defense requests the acquittal of Kadri Veseli from all charges.

The defense team of the former Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli, completed the presentation of the closing statement in the largest trial in The Hague against former KLA leaders.
Veseli's lawyer, Rodney Dixon, said that Kadri Veseli is completely innocent and asked the trial panel to reject the claims of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office, due to lack of evidence.
Dixon, who began delivering his closing statement in The Hague yesterday, said that Kadri Veseli is not involved in any of the crimes that the SPO charges him with.
"My client is not involved in any of the crimes that the Prosecution claims he committed...the ZPS seems to be dragging us along with it in the chaos of the king of the flies. According to the ZPS, any kind of association makes sense as long as it serves it and as a result, according to us, the ZPS does not support and does not confirm absolutely any of his accusations and on the other hand there are many points that can prove that my client is completely innocent and we submit that the prosecution's position should be rejected," he said.
Lawyer Dixon said that Kadri Veseli deserves a fair trial, acquittal and to be declared innocent of all charges, otherwise, as he said, it would be a great injustice.
"It is wrong for the SPO to pursue people like Veseli in vain in the hope that it will bring a spiritual solution to the victims. We can see from the empty reflection of the SPO that we cannot present this "joint criminal enterprise" without the intelligence service's involvement...13'24'21 Justice is a constant that gives the person and the victim what they deserve and the victims deserve what belongs to them, just as Mr. Veseli deserves what belongs to him. He therefore deserves a fair and proper trial, he should be acquitted and declared innocent of all charges, otherwise it would be a great injustice," said Dixon.
Attorney Dixon said that the Specialized Prosecutor's Office alleges that Veseli facilitated the distribution of KLA statements and provided information that served as the basis for those statements.
However, he emphasizes that there is no concrete evidence linking Veseli to these communications and describes the claims as general, vague and unfounded.
"According to the SPO, my client facilitated the distribution of KLA statements that formed the backbone of the policies, the collaborators, my client provided the entire factual backbone for all the communiqués and statements and it is also said that he provided the information that was later reflected in these communiqués and the whole thing came from him according to the SPO. Meanwhile, since there is no evidence to support this claim by the SPO, it is necessary to create a connection between Veseli and the communiqués in some way because this is the only way he is connected to the crimes. However, this is a desperate way for the SPO to incriminate my client and it does not provide any evidence to support or confirm this. Even the language used by the SPO is vague, general. The SPO says that Veseli received, evaluated and provided and transferred, provided intelligence that formed the basis of the communiqués," Dixon said.
After the lunch break, the closing statement of Rexhep Selimi's defense team will continue.
Closing statements by the parties in the largest judicial process in The Hague began on Monday at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
Closing statements have begun with the Specialized Prosecutor's Office (SPO), where Chief Prosecutor Kimberly West has requested 45 years in prison for Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. /Kp/Telegraph/
