The Customs Director reveals which is the hottest smuggling area in Kosovo

The Director of Kosovo Customs, Agron Llugaliu, has said that currently the 'hottest area' of smuggling in Kosovo is in the triangle between North Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia, namely in the Debëllde area.

"The hottest smuggling area worldwide was known to be North Mitrovica, but now from the reports we have, it is the Debëldë area, the triangle of North Macedonia, Serbia, Kosovo. From Macedonia, we have quite a few problems with shipments that are counterfeit goods," said Llugaliu.

The Director of Kosovo Customs emphasizes that it is mainly counterfeit goods that are being attempted to be smuggled mostly from North Macedonia to Kosovo.

Regarding cigarette smuggling in Kosovo, he said that there have been such cases but that the country has a well-regulated system regarding their controls.

"We have had cases where dozens of cigarette packs were smuggled through Skopje and then to Shkodra and arrived in Kosovo. They mainly came from North Mitrovica. Kosovo has one of the most regulated systems for cigarette control. The possibility of finding cigarettes in Kosovo without banners is very small," Llugaliu added to "KallxoPernime".
