The Basic Court in Pristina has decided to impose pre-trial detention on the defendant Besart Kelmedi - Gjesti, who is suspected of committing three criminal offenses.

According to the court's announcement, the decision was made following the request of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina and after the preliminary procedure judge reviewed the case files.

Besart Kelmendi is suspected of the criminal offenses of "Threat", "Destruction or damage to property", and "Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons".

After hearing the parties in the proceedings, the court assessed that the Prosecution's request is well-founded and decided to impose a one-month detention measure on the defendant.

The court found that there is a risk of flight, the possibility of influencing witnesses, and the risk of repeating the criminal offense, considering detention as the most appropriate measure for the unhindered development of the criminal procedure.

Against this ruling, dissatisfied parties have the right to appeal to the Court of Appeal, through the Basic Court in Pristina.
