The Mayor of the City of Skopje, Orce Gjorgjievski, said that around 18.5 million euros have been allocated from the budget for subsidizing enterprises and institutions, of which the largest amount, 15 million euros, will go to the Skopje Public Transport Enterprise.
Gjorgievski said that this is a record amount of subsidies that the Transport Company has received from the City.
"We promised to consolidate the Skopje City Budget and help enterprises and cultural institutions repay their debts by the first half of 2027. For this purpose, 25 million denars in aid for cultural institutions, 60 million denars in aid for "Municipal Hygiene", 80 million denars for "Parks and Greenery", 20 million denars for "Drisla", 15 million denars for "Lajka", 23 million denars for "Roads and Alleys", as well as a record 920 million denars in subsidies for NTP Skopje", said Gjorgjievski in his presentation to the Skopje City Council during the review of the 2026 Budget.
