The Capital City Assembly has approved municipal revenues for 2024, which amount to 28 million euros.

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has assessed this decision as important for the financial stability of the municipality, but at the same time has called on the Ministry of Finance to unblock the funds that have not yet been allocated.

Rama said that the acting minister must keep his promise to allocate the voted funds, while emphasizing that an additional 35 million euros – 25 million from own revenues and 10 million from a government grant – continue to remain blocked without any procedural obstacles.

"I hope that the acting minister will keep his word on the allocation of the funds voted today. Meanwhile, 25 million in own revenues and 10 million in government grants, a total of 35 million euros, are still blocked and do not require any procedure in the Assembly, but only the will of the minister for approval," he declared.

According to Rama, the unblocking of these funds is necessary for the implementation of capital projects and the continuation of essential services for citizens.

Following President Rama's statement, the acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, reacted.

He said that the assembly members of the Vetëvendosje Movement have enabled the transfer of their own revenues to the Municipal Assembly, doing, according to him, what was not accomplished in the Kosovo Assembly by Lumir Abdixhiku and the LDK.

"Today, the assembly members of the Vetëvendosje Movement voted to transfer their own revenues to the Municipal Assembly of Pristina. So, what Lumir Abdixhiku and the LDK did not do in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, the Vetëvendosje Movement did in the Municipal Assembly, to unblock payments for essential public services," Murati wrote.

He added that for the Vetëvendosje Movement, the interests of citizens remain an undisputed priority.

"As has been proven time and time again, for the Vetëvendosje Movement, the interests of citizens always have priority," Murati emphasized. /Telegrafi/
