The defense of the accused Nexhat Vllasaliu, who, together with his brother Jeton, is accused of the murder of businessman Bedri Rexhepi in 2021, due to the misappropriation of property, has continued at the Basic Court of Pristina.

Today's court session continued with questions from the defense attorney for the injured party, Besnik Berisha, against the defendant, Nexhat Vllasaliu.

The injured party's lawyer, Besnik Berisha, continued to confront the accused Nexhat Vllasaliu with the statement given to the Prosecution, where according to Berisha, the accused stated that they went to the village of Vllasali together with Jeton and he to his house, asking him to state which version is the true one.

"In the last session, you stated that you have evidence that on the 9th you took the skeletons in Vllasali. Did you take the skeletons when you went with Jetoni or separately?", said Berisha. "No, no, I went myself," said Vllasali.

"With Jetoni on the 9th in Vllasali, can you tell us why you went, what you took, and how long you stayed," Berisha asked. "I didn't go with Jetoni, I went myself, I took a skeleton and I returned," Vllasali said.

"You're saying that you didn't go with Jeton at all on the 9th to Vllasali... In the last session, I read your statement to the prosecutor's office, where you stated that I woke up early, poured myself a coffee, went out to the terrace, there I saw Jeton and he said, "Are you going?" I said yes, he asked me where you were going, I told him that I was going to the village to get some scaffolding, he told me to come too, where should I go back and get my wife? This answer was given for the 9th, one night after you say that you went to get Jeton from Janjeva. Can you tell us why then you described that on the 9th you described that you went with Jeton to Vllasali, you also mentioned a scaffolding, and now you're changing it, saying that you went yourself," Berisha asked.

"I gave this explanation last week, I have nothing else to add... I didn't go with Jeton, I went by myself, I met Jeton on the 13th, if I'm not mistaken, he was there to look at some villas, I don't know more. I met him at the school where we take water, I don't know the time," Vllasaliu replied.

Berisha then asked Vllasali about the statements given during the investigation, which he changed at trial.

"Nobody at the police asked me about Jeton, what he came with, or what he was going to do. At the prosecutor's office, the prosecutor told me you went with Jeton to get the body and hid it in the mountains. My car was confiscated for that reason. After a while, they released the car, because there was nothing. It's not true, when the investigation called me, it was evening. Can you open the door for us in the village of Vllasali. I said it's late, but if you have an emergency, break the door, I'm giving you permission. He said you have to come, I said I'm coming, no, don't come, but come tomorrow. I went, we opened the door, some furniture had to be removed from the hallway to continue on the third floor. We took some furniture from Pristina to Vllasali. They did their job, we said goodbye, they continued, I returned. A few days later, the house was searched again, in my presence. After a while, the prosecutor also came "The state. The experts came with the prosecutor, there was also a woman, they called me on the phone, they did an expert examination of the house, then I was arrested," Vllasaliu declared.

Berisha then asked the defendant if they had ever met the late Bedri Rexhepi.

"I have stated that I have never known him in my life, I have never seen him, I guarantee it with my life. If only one person says that Nexhati saw Bedri Rexhepi, I guarantee it with my life... I do not know at what time Jetoni went, nor with whom he went. I was at my house", said Vllasaliu. Berisha: You stated about Bedri Rexhepi that you have never heard of him. In the prosecutor's question, on page five, was the victim ever at his brother's house and did you at least recognize him by his physiognomy, you answered, no but I heard from the family, which victim are you talking about here?" Vllasaliu: For any victim, I am not a person who makes victims. I have never had any lawyers, the victim was never mentioned in my house. Bedri Rexhepi was mentioned when he appeared in the newspapers, I was very interested in him for days, said Vllasaliu. Berisha: Bedri Rexhepi interested you so much, that when he meets your brother in the mountains in Vllasali, in search of his body, your brother asks you if he is far, and he asks you exactly about the place where you had changed the place of the body so that no others would be found. Do you have an explanation for this, is it far? Vllasaliu: The fact that I had no connection.

The presiding judge, Medie Bytyqi, said that the next hearing will be held on April 3, starting at 13:15 p.m.

The previous hearing on this case was interrupted due to the poor health of the presiding judge, Medie Bytyqi.

In October 2022, the Basic Prosecution Office of Pristina filed an indictment against Jeton and Nexhat Vllasaliu for the murder of businessman Bedri Rexhepi, reports the KP, Telegrafi reports.
