The chief executive officer of the Millennium Challenge Foundation, Petrit Selimi, has announced that in the new budget of American President Joe Biden, Kosovo plans to receive continuous financial support from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

In a post on Twitter, Selimi said that within this framework, the US will continue to develop goals focusing on energy diversification - the possible introduction of gas into Kosovo.

Meanwhile, in the report published by MCC it is said that the request has been approved for the allocation of funds which are mainly focused on energy programs.

"MCC and the Government completed studies in 2020 to evaluate three proposed projects: the development of Kosovo's natural gas sector, the creation of energy reserves to balance the energy system and the improvement of electricity distribution. After reviewing the results of the studies, the Government sought to move forward with the development of the gas sector and the creation of energy reserves with the aim of facilitating the integration of renewable sources, easing Kosovo's dependence on coal and achieving decarbonization goals. the document says.

They envisioned these projects as a form for the economic development of Kosovo, it is stated in the budget justification document. /Telegraph/
