The decision of the United States of America to suspend the strategic dialogue with Kosovo is being considered worrying.

The United States of America (US) has suspended the strategic dialogue with Kosovo today. The Embassy's announcement on Facebook states that this is due to the actions of the Kosovo government.

Meanwhile, the US decision has also been commented on by the acting Government of Kosovo, where it has been stated that they welcome criticism and whenever it is concrete, they try their best to improve and correct their steps and actions.

Constitutional law professor Mazllum Baraliu believes that state leaders should treat this decision of Kosovo's main ally seriously.

Baraliu believes that this situation should be repaired as soon as possible.

"Seeing it as something worrying and disturbing if it is official, if it is the source from the American State Department, secondly, it should be known what it is about, what dialogue. There is no reason to develop a dialogue except that diplomatic relations do not mean dialogue, they mean relations based on the Vienna Convention where the duty of an embassy and the ambassador or chargé d'affaires is determined and has limits. We do not have dialogue with other countries, much less such a dialogue that is called strategic. But, nevertheless, it should be worrying and disturbing when in one way or another such an important country that is the main exponent of Kosovo's strategic alliance, and it should be with the US and the QUINT countries and all the countries possibly of the West, then there is such a suspension. This should be taken as an alert as something that should be taken very seriously and repaired as soon as possible and that such relations are not considered normal if there is a strategic dialogue", he emphasized to KosovaPress.

Following the US decision to suspend the strategic dialogue with Kosovo, the leaders of the opposition parties in the country, PDK, LDK and AAK, held a meeting with US representatives at the US Embassy in Kosovo.

It is still unknown what was discussed.

The President of Kosovo also reacted to the US decision, Vjosa Osmani expressed deep regret and concern about the decision to suspend the Strategic Dialogue, an important mechanism of cooperation between Kosovo and the US.

In a statement by the Presidency, it is stated that the issue of alliance with the US is a strategic issue that requires political unity and commitment from everyone in Kosovo.

Eugen Cakolli from KDI, in almost two decades of the existence of the "strategic dialogue" mechanism, the US has suspended or terminated it with only four countries.

"China, Russia, Georgia, Kosovo. Placing Kosovo on the same list as Russia and China, besides being the harshest diplomatic message from the US, is also a major alarm for the country's international credibility," he said.

Meanwhile, former ambassador Lulzim Peci wrote that the suspension of the Strategic Dialogue by the US was one of the expected measures that are a consequence of the irresponsible politics of VV, namely Albin Kurti, with whom Vjosa Osmani is also dancing.

Analyst Shkëlzen Gashi wrote that the American Embassy in Pristina opened the election campaign today.
