Saudis fear Salah is using them to secure a better contract at Liverpool

Saudi Arabian Super League officials see Mohamed Salah as the "perfect signing", but confidence is fading that the Liverpool star will leave this summer.

According to The Paper, despite an offer from Al-Hilal worth £65m over two seasons, sources suggest Salah is using Saudi interest to strengthen his contract negotiations.

"We love him, but there is little indication that he is considering a move," a senior league adviser said.

Salah, now 32, is in fine form, leading Liverpool to the title and climbing the Premier League's all-time top scorers charts.

His focus on personal evaluations and Liverpool's ongoing contract talks with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have further fuelled suspicions.

While the Saudi league remains interested in Salah, officials insist their growth is no longer dependent on signing aging stars.

With talents like Joao Cancelo and Ruben Neves already in Arabia, attention could shift to other Liverpool players, including Darwin Nunez. /Telegraph/
