Solidarity tax refund, RMV Government must provide around 50 million euros

The government will need to secure approximately 50 million euros for the return of the solidarity tax to companies. Before tomorrow's meeting, the government has not indicated how it will secure these funds.
Experts warn that this is a significant amount, which the state will find difficult to fulfill its obligation.
Economists say the state has two options to return funds from the solidarity tax: cut spending and investment and reduce subsidies for students and farmers, or take on new debt to gradually compensate businesses.
The government will have to return around 50 million euros to 156 companies after the abolition of the solidarity tax. Although some of the companies have waived the interest, none have waived the principal amount. The funds should be planned in the budget for 2026 and 2027.
The Constitutional Court declared the tax illegal, leaving the companies the right to claim the amount paid within five years. /Alsat/
