Osman's Decree, Qorrolli: One of the most flagrant cases of presidential power interference

Vigan Qorolli from the Vetëvendosje Movement spoke on Debat Plus regarding the presidential decree dissolving the Kosovo Assembly.
The LVV MP said that the country is now in a kind of moratorium, adding that even if the decree did not exist, the session to elect the president would not be able to continue.
"With the new request to attack the presidential decree, we will do so on behalf of 30 members of Parliament," he said.
"This marks one of the most flagrant cases of interference by the 'presidential' power... We fear that the president may announce a new election date tomorrow."
"She cannot announce the new decree setting the election date because there is already an active case in the Constitutional Court, where we have requested an interim measure," he said.
Qorolli further said that the country's president has committed one of the most serious acts of constitutional violation.
"The President today has committed one of the most serious acts of constitutional violation in the entire constitutional history of the Republic of Kosovo, since the existence of the Constitution of April 2008, which we still have in force today."
"Through a decree that we believe is hasty and arbitrary, she has directly intervened in the functioning of the legislative body, while her political comments on the decree exceed any reason and any political rationality for the manner in which the decree was issued," he said.
