The Commission for Professional Supervision in the case of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics found that the resuscitation procedure was implemented according to the protocol, the Ministry of Health announced.

"The Commission for Professional Supervision on the case of the deceased newborn baby at the Gynecology Clinic, after conducting the supervision, has drawn the following conclusions:

Based on the complete medical documentation, statements from medical personnel and autopsy findings, the Professional Supervision Commission determined that this was a premature baby, with severe congenital infection, respiratory distress and impaired pulmonary function due to unformed lungs and the inflammatory process within the infection, with the presence of spontaneous, partial pneumothorax, radiologically verified in the first hours after birth.

"Due to the seriousness of the condition and the significant risks, the baby was placed on mechanical ventilation four hours after birth and due to the congenital infection, was immediately placed on antibiotic therapy," the announcement states.

During treatment, they add, a change in antibiotic therapy was indicated, taking into account laboratory tests that indicated a septic condition./Telegraph/
