The Central Election Commission, through a press release, says that today it has received an official clarification regarding the error identified in several ballots of the local elections of November 9, 2025 in South Mitrovica and Gjakova.

The announcement states that after receiving photos showing the error, the company conducted a full investigation of the production and data preparation process. The investigation revealed that the problem occurred only in one of the four printer heads that prints the polling station number, while the control system only monitors the serial number (QR code), so the error was not detected during printing.

"CETIS emphasizes that it takes full responsibility for this technical error, underlining that the ballots contain numerous security elements that make their falsification or copying impossible. The company expresses deep regret for the incident and confirms that it remains at the full disposal of the CEC for any assistance in the investigation and verification of the ballots to clarify the circumstances of the case," the CEC's response states.

The Central Election Commission clarifies that the State Prosecutor's Office has been notified of this response. /Telegraph/
