The Embassy of Japan finances medical equipment for the Diagnostic Center in Gracanica

The signing ceremony of the Grant Contract for the "Project for the provision of medical equipment for the Graçanica Diagnostic Center" was held at the offices of the Municipality of Graçanica, within the framework of the Japanese Grant Assistance for Basic Human Security Projects (GGP).
The grant contract was signed by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo, Hiroyasu Tanigaki, and the Mayor of Graçanica, Novak Zivić, as the implementing partner of the project.

On this occasion, Tanigaki congratulated Zivić on his election to the position of mayor, wishing him success in exercising his mandate. He emphasized that Japan remains committed to supporting projects that directly impact the well-being of citizens.
"We are particularly pleased that through this project we can support the Diagnostic Center and the Municipality of Gracanica in their efforts to improve the living conditions of citizens in this municipality and the surrounding region," Tanigaki stated.

The project aims to improve the quality of health services for the citizens of Gracanica and surrounding areas, through the provision of modern medical equipment.
As part of it, an additional immunoanalytical analyzer will be installed in the clinical laboratory of the Diagnostic Center, which will enable around 4,100 patients per year to receive more accurate diagnoses and early detection of diseases.

Also, a device for extracorporeal radial shock wave therapy will be donated to the physiotherapy department, which will provide approximately 430 patients per year with adequate treatment according to their health needs.
The total value of the project amounts to 59 thousand 700 euros.

The Japanese Grant Assistance for Basic Human Security Projects (GGP) is one of the schemes of Japan's Official Development Assistance, which supports non-governmental organizations and local public institutions in addressing the basic needs of communities, particularly in the areas of health, education, environment and social welfare.
In Kosovo, Japan has implemented the GGP scheme even before the declaration of independence, while after independence, the total amount of grants allocated through this scheme reaches 4 million 410 thousand 415 euros for 66 projects throughout the country. /Telegrafi/
