DASH's report on human rights in Kosovo mentions the intimidation and pressure on minorities by Lista Serbe during the parliamentary elections.

The US Department of State has recently published the Report on Human Rights in Kosovo for 2021.

In this report, among other things, the last parliamentary elections that were held in February are mentioned, where it is highlighted the fact that there was pressure and intimidation within the ethnic minority communities to support the parties connected to the Serbian List, a party closely connected to the Serbian government. .

"Some Kosovo Serbs also reported that they were pressured not to support parties other than Lista Serba. According to the observers of the National Democratic Institute, the politicians of the Serbian List instigated the creation of new Roma and Bosniak political parties and encouraged the Kosovo Serbs to vote for these new parties in an attempt to increase their influence in the Assembly by winning the seats of reserved for minority groups", says the report on Human Rights in Kosovo for 2021, writes Telegrafi.

This report also mentions the decision of the Supreme Court to annul the majority of votes cast for the Roma Initiative party and the United Community party - Adrijana Hoxhiq, linked to the Serbian List, asserting that their votes did not come from the communities they targeted to represent the guaranteed countries.

"The decision of the Supreme Court caused Hodžić to lose her seat, which went to the second Bosnian party, the Social Democratic Union. The Roma Initiative also lost one of the two seats it initially appeared to have won, and the seat went to another party from the Roma community," the report states.

The report also mentions the CEC's decision to deny certification to candidates of any party with a criminal conviction in the last three years, adding to the criticism made at that time by the acting President, Vjosa Osmani. This report also mentions the dismissal of the head of the CEC, Valdete Daka, by President Vjosa Osmani.

In the part dealing with corruption and the lack of transparency in the government, the report of the American State Department says that in 2021, even though the Law provides for criminal penalties for corruption against officials, the Government did not implement the law effectively, writes Telegrafi.

"There were reports of corruption in the Government. Officials sometimes engaged in corrupt practices with impunity. The lack of effective judicial oversight and general weakness in the rule of law contributed to this problem. Corruption cases were often subject to repeated appeals, and the judicial system often allowed cases to be statute-barred without trial," the report said.
