The Public Prosecutors' Council will open proceedings after Mickoski's "mediocre" statements against Ristoska

The Public Prosecutors' Council opens a procedure following prosecutor Lençe Ristoska's report on Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, after he publicly called her "mediocre" and part of a "clientelist-political matrix", while she reacted that such statements exert pressure and violate her independence in her work.
The Chairman of the Council, Bashkim Besimi, in a brief statement to "Sloboden Peçat" confirmed that today they have received the notification and will act according to the approved Regulation for Ensuring and Guaranteeing the Independence of Public Prosecutors, namely they will form a Commission that will have to draw conclusions.
The regulation was adopted in November last year and, according to it, if it is determined that a certain event meets the legal elements of being a crime, a procedure is initiated before the competent prosecutor's office.
"An external violation of independence is any action by persons outside the public prosecution office and the Council of Public Prosecutors that threatens the professional integrity of public prosecutors and can be assessed as a violation of the independent, accountable, lawful, impartial and objective performance of the public prosecution function," the Regulation states.
The council forms a three-member commission, which may collect data and information to determine the circumstances. The commission may summon the prosecutor to clarify the charges and may ask Mickoski to give a written or oral statement./Telegraph/
