The Basic Court in Pristina, Department for Administrative Matters, has approved the lawsuit of the NGO Kosovo Institute for Justice (KIJ), declaring the decision on the election of the Chairman of the Independent Media Commission (IMC), dated January 17, 2025, illegal.
The news was announced by lawyer Ardian Bajraktari, who emphasized that the court's decision confirms legal violations during the decision-making process.
"Today I accepted the decision of the Basic Court in Pristina, which approved the KLI lawsuit and declared the decision to elect the Chairman of the IMC illegal," Bajraktari stated.
According to him, the verdict reconfirms the importance of respecting the law in institutional processes.
"This decision confirms legal violations in the decision-making process and reconfirms the importance of respecting the fundamental principle of legality when making such decisions," he added.
The court's decision is expected to have an impact on the functioning and future decision-making of the Independent Media Commission. /Telegraph/
