US Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, has published a video on social media showing him doing push-ups alongside American troops in Geneva.

In the video description, he wrote "Ready for duty."

Otherwise, he stated that the US will continue to pressure the United Nations for reforms.

Waltz also reiterated that an advance payment from Washington to the global organization would come within weeks.

It is known that the US is the largest contributor to the UN budget, but under the administration of President Donald Trump, they have refused to make mandatory payments to the UN's regular and peacekeeping budgets, and have cut voluntary funds to the agencies.

Waltz, speaking in Geneva, did not give details on how much the UN will receive, but said the US will pay its dues while pressuring the organisation for reforms.

Waltz is on a two-day visit to Geneva to meet with officials from a number of UN agencies, including the refugee agency, UNHCR, which is facing the most severe budget cuts in its history.telegraph/
