The 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations is marked, Mucunski: Macedonia remains committed to global processes
The Skopje City Museum marked United Nations Day today, an event organized in cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the United Nations Office in the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timco Muçunski and the UN Resident Coordinator, Rita Columbia, jointly confirmed their commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and to continued cooperation towards strengthening institutions, promoting human rights, protecting the environment and fulfilling the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
"This year's observance aims to remind the international community of the need to strengthen mutual trust and solidarity, especially in times of multiple challenges affecting every part of the world. On this occasion, the Republic of North Macedonia reaffirms its commitment to the principles and values of the United Nations Charter, to the promotion of human rights, sustainable development and peace, as well as to the continued partnership with the UN system in the country," the Ministry says.
Minister Mucunski emphasized that as a member state of the United Nations, we reaffirm our strong belief in multilateralism, in international law, and that global challenges can only be solved jointly.
He stressed that the state remains committed to global processes and will continue to promote the core values of the United Nations and be a reliable partner in achieving universal goals - the progress of humanity, peace, justice, human dignity, dialogue, tolerance and solidarity.
"Congratulating you on this day, I assure you that we remain a committed and reliable partner in achieving the universal goals of the United Nations," said Mucunski.
