The Municipal Assembly of Ferizaj has today approved by majority vote the municipal budget for 2026, which amounts to 53,068,494 euros. Of this amount, over 14 million euros are dedicated to capital investments in infrastructure, greenery and development projects.

The session was attended by the Mayor, Agim Aliu, the Speaker of the Assembly, Xhavit Zariqi, heads of municipal directorates and members of the Assembly.

Mayor Aliu described the budget as the main investment document for the transformation of the city, emphasizing that it is the result of public hearings and represents the demands of citizens. "This budget is a clear reflection of our vision for the comprehensive transformation of Ferizaj. Every neighborhood and every village has its place in this investment projection," he said, according to the Telegraph.

A significant portion of the funds will go to green projects, for which over 6 million euros have been invested during the mandate. Among the main projects for the coming year are the New City Park and the construction of the Youth Boulevard, as well as the continued expansion of the Freedom Park and the Park on Kodra e Sherretëve.

The budget also foresees the start of works on the Inner City Ring Road, the paving of connecting roads in neighborhoods and villages, as well as investments in the water supply and sewage network in urban and rural areas.

After discussions for and against, the budget received the green light from the majority of assembly members. At the same meeting, the suspension of a previous decision of the Assembly was also approved, while the declaration against violence against women in politics and public life, supported by the OSCE, was read and supported.

This budget, according to Mayor Aliu, constitutes the basis on which Ferizaj will continue its transformation into a modern city, with new standards of development and well-being for all citizens. /Telegrafi/
