Real Madrid suffered a shock by being eliminated from the King's Cup, after a 2-1 defeat away to Albacete.
'Los Blancos' came into this challenge after a 3-2 defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final to Barcelona and with a new coach on the bench.
Immediately after the final, the Madrid club made the decision to part ways with coach Xabi Alonso, immediately replacing him with Alvaro Arbeloa.
However, this change does not seem to have brought any innovation to the Spanish giants as they were eliminated from the Copa del Rey by a team ranked 17th in La Liga 2.
Before this match, Albacete had three consecutive matches without a win, and this fact has led the club's fans to mock Real Madrid.
"Thank you for coming, we finally won a game. Please come again next week," Albacete fans were singing in chorus after the match ended.
After this defeat, Real Madrid will now focus their forces on La Liga, where they will host Levante at the 'Santiago Bernabeu' next round.Telegraph/
