Tesla in Sweden - electric charging, but with the help of diesel

In Vansbro, in the Swedish province of Dalarna, many tourists take the opportunity to charge their vehicles before the final stage of their mountain climb and before leaving for their vacation. Tesla has built a new charging station here.
However, as the company is still in conflict with the IF Metall union (over better working conditions for Tesla employees), the station has not been connected to the power grid.
The electricians' union has taken measures in solidarity with their metalworking colleagues. For this reason, Tesla is using diesel generators to produce electricity, writes Teknikveckan.
The generator uses HVO100 biodiesel. It is chemically identical to conventional diesel, but emits less carbon dioxide. However, it is not completely clean.
HVO100 also releases few pollutants into the environment. The fuel is considered renewable, so only a small portion of the emissions are accounted for.
"When it comes to carbon dioxide, there will be fewer emissions. However, there will be no change when it comes to hydrocarbon and particulate emissions," says Magnus Lindgren, a fuel expert at the Swedish Transport Administration. /Telegraph/
