Switzerland and the USA, the first two countries for financial secrecy in the world

Switzerland and the United States of America are the two first and foremost countries for financial secrecy in the world, it is said in 'Financial Secrecy Index, 2018', presented by 'Tax Justice Network', writes Telegrafi.

This index analyzes 112 countries of the world, in addition to Switzerland and the USA, at the top of the list are the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Singapore, Luxembourg, Germany, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates, writes Telegraph.

Switzerland remains at the top, a country that, together with the following list, enters the category of tax havens, or that allows them, while for the USA, it is estimated that "it has refused to participate in international efforts to reduce financial secrecy, while that gives itself the right to request information about American citizens abroad, but refuses to provide the data to foreign countries."

In this report, from the countries of the region, only Montenegro was evaluated, which is in the 99th position, and Macedonia in the 102nd position.

In the criteria prepared for the design of the index are also the lack of public registers, harmful taxation rules for residents and tolerance of anonymity for shareholders. This financial secrecy index considers the level of secrecy and the percentage of financial services offered to non-residents. /Telegraph/
