Acting Minister of Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, has announced that he has inspected the section of the state border where the citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, Milan Vukashinović, is suspected of being kidnapped.

According to Sveclë, based on information and evidence provided by local authorities, it was determined that during this incident, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo was violated, as Vukašinović was kidnapped by Serbian structures due to his positions as an opponent of the Serbian List.

He announced that Vukashinovic, following his injuries, is currently being treated at the Niš hospital in Serbia.
"Serbia is proving itself every day not only as an aggressor state towards its neighbors, but also as an anti-democratic state, as Mr. Vukashinović is still being denied the legal protection that is guaranteed even in the most authoritarian countries," Svečla stated.

The Minister added that Kosovo institutions are conducting intensive investigations to fully clarify the case and identify all persons involved, who will face justice.

Finally, Svečla appealed to the international community to increase pressure and take measures against Serbia, to punish, as he said, "criminal and destabilizing behavior" and to prevent other situations that could fuel tensions in the region.
