The independent candidate for the Municipal Assembly of Ferizaj, Bashkim Fazliu, has announced that he has submitted requests to the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Ferizaj and to the Central Election Commission (CEC), requesting expanded investigations and extraordinary verification measures regarding the electoral process, including a recount of votes.

Fazliu stated that the names of 33 former candidates for municipal assemblies from Ferizaj for the local elections on October 12 have been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office, while he warned that names from other municipalities are expected to be submitted soon.

He said that the request to the Prosecutor's Office is related to the expansion of the investigations that are already underway for December 28, emphasizing that it concerns the same election commissioners and violations of the same nature.

According to him, there is a well-founded suspicion that the commissioners who allegedly committed violations on December 28 may have abused the will of the citizens in the October 12 elections as well.

In parallel, Fazliu announced that he had also addressed the CEC with a request to undertake extraordinary verification measures, after, as he said, new evidence of abuse and manipulation emerged. He emphasized that one of the main requests is a recount of votes.

"In local elections, even one vote makes a difference. If after the recount the result remains the same, then fine, but if it changes, we will request the annulment of the process," Fazliu declared.

He also raised doubts regarding the destruction of ballots, saying that he has not come across any official notification from the CEC on this issue.

"I have researched the CEC website and have not found any official announcement about the destruction of ballots. I have heard that they have been destroyed, but there is no official confirmation," said Fazliu. /Telegrafi/
