A case of animal smuggling was discovered yesterday by the Kosovo Police in the village of Dumnicë, Podujevo. According to the Kosovo Police, a suspect was crossing the border in an unauthorized manner by transporting 21 sheep in a cart, KosovaPress reports.
The report states that, when the police patrol noticed him, the suspect attempted to flee by taking a mountain road, but the animals were seized and taken to the customs terminal for further procedures.
"Village Dumnicë, Podujevë 09.12.2025 – 16:00. It was reported that a suspect was smuggling several animals. When the suspect saw the police, he tried to flee through the mountain roads. There were 21 animals (sheep) in the cart which were sent to the customs terminal for further procedures," the 24-hour report of the Kosovo Police states.
It is further stated that the person involved subsequently reported himself to the police, where after the initiation of the case he was released by decision of the prosecutor. The procedure against him will continue according to the regular procedure. /Telegrafi/
