Suspect arrested for murder of 19-year-old in Vushtrri

Kosovo Police have arrested the suspect in the murder of AZ, 19, which occurred last evening in Vushtrri.

The suspect, BD, also 19 years old, was detained by police, and a pistol was confiscated during the search.

During the raid on his home, authorities also seized a long gun with five rounds of ammunition.

The news was confirmed by the Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Mitrovica region, Avni Zahiti, who announced that the incident occurred at around 20:35 on "Galip Badivuku" street in Vushtrri.

"From the initial investigations at the scene, it was determined that a person had fired a gun at the victim AZ, who was taken to the Vushtrri Hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had died. By order of the prosecutor, his body was sent for autopsy to the IML," said Zahiti.

At the scene, investigators seized three shell casings as material evidence.

Meanwhile, after identifying and arresting the suspect, the prosecutor has ordered him to be placed in police custody.
