Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw donated a large sum of money after organizing a fundraising campaign for the family of James Van Der Beek.
Spielberg and his family donated $25,000 to an account opened by Van Der Beek's close friends for his wife and six children.
The action was launched after the family was left without funds due to medical expenses.
Van Der Beek passed away on Wednesday morning after a battle with colon cancer. He had been battling the diagnosis since August 2023.
Also, more than two million dollars have been raised so far, and Van Der Beek's wife thanked everyone for their help and donations.
"Your kindness has meant more to us than words can express. Your support has been a light. It reminds us that love is real, that community is strong, and that James' spirit continues to bring people together," said friends of the Van Der Beek family.
Other celebrities who have donated funds to this campaign include Jon M. Chu, as well as Zoe Saldana. /Telegraph/
