A Minnesota museum opened a seasonally appropriate exhibit dedicated to the stuff of Halloween nightmares: "scary dolls."

The Olmsted County History Center's new exhibit, "Scary Dolls: Free in the Vaults," features disturbing dolls paired with various artifacts from the Rochester museum's archives, the Telegraph reports.

"The idea is to let the dolls loose in the vaults. They curate the show and choose their own objects that they connect with the most," said Chris Delisle, the museum's exhibition and events coordinator.

Delisle said the exhibit combines history with entertainment.

"What really interests me is what people resonate with and why they connect with these objects. What takes them back in their minds to their childhood memories," he added.

He said all the dolls were donated by community members, who were also asked to include information about the history of each toy.

Visitors are asked to vote for their favorite scary toy, and the winner will be announced near the end of the exhibition. /Telegraph/
