The Central Election Commission (CEC) began the vote counting process in the South Mitrovica municipality on Tuesday, following an order issued by the Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica.

According to the announcement by the Prosecutor's Office, the decision was made after finding several irregularities during the initial vote counting process, reports Telegrafi.


The latest data from the Central Election Commission updated on November 12th indicate that 69 out of 105 polling stations have been counted so far.

The candidate of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Faton Peci, is leading with votes, he has so far received 11,218 votes or 51.27%.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Arian Tahiri, received 10,664 votes, or 48.73%.

The second round of local elections was held on November 9, in 18 municipalities. /Telegrafi/
