Sorensen in Kosovo, meets with Kurti and Osmani

The European Union's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, is visiting Pristina today.
This morning, he held meetings with the country's institutional leaders.
Sorensen first met with the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, at the Kosovo Government building, and was then received by President Vjosa Osmani in her office.
No media statements have been announced following these meetings. During the day, he is also expected to meet with representatives of the Kosovo opposition.

After the visit to Pristina, the European envoy will travel to Belgrade for meetings with Serbian leaders.
Sorensen's visit comes at a time when Kosovo is awaiting the formation of new state institutions, following the early parliamentary elections of December 28, which were convincingly won by the Vetëvendosje Movement led by Albin Kurti.
This is Sorensen's first visit to Kosovo since the extension of his mandate for another two years as special envoy for dialogue.
During his first term, he held only two meetings at the level of chief negotiators, without concrete results, while the lack of progress in the dialogue was attributed mainly to internal political developments in Kosovo and Serbia. /Telegraph/
