The European Union's envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, stayed in Kosovo on Wednesday, on his first visit after the December 28 elections.

During his stay in Kosovo, Sorensen held meetings with institutional representatives, and also met with the Commander of the KFOR mission, Major General Ozkan Ulutaş.

According to the announcement of the NATO mission in Kosovo, the meeting discussed cooperation between KFOR and the European Union, with a particular focus on support for the EU-facilitated dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.

"Major General Ulutaş emphasized KFOR's continued cooperation with the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) and support for the EU-facilitated dialogue for the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade, which is key to sustainable security in Kosovo and regional stability, for the benefit of all communities," the statement said.

Sorensen's visit comes at a sensitive political period after the elections, while the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue remains one of the key processes for stability and security in the region.
