Solskjaer personally intervenes to transfer Man Utd star to Besiktas

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has personally intervened to sign Marcus Rashford from his old club, according to recent reports.

Rashford looks set to leave Old Trafford this January as he is out of new manager Ruben Amorim's plans.

The 27-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since the Manchester derby in December.

Several different clubs have been linked with the English striker, including Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, all of whom have expressed interest in his services.

However, according to Turkish journalist Gokmen Ozcan, Solskjaer has made Rashford his main target for new team Besiktas.

"Besiktas coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's crazy target: Marcus Rashford."

"The Norwegian coach is personally involved in the signing of the 27-year-old striker, with whom he worked together at Manchester United," he wrote.

The 51-year-old has signed an 18-month contract with the Turkish club, taking charge of a club for the first time since leaving United in 2021./Telegraph/
