A major winter storm has brought heavy snowfall and dangerous ice to parts of the northeastern United States, and is expected to bring the heaviest snowfall to New York in almost four years.

New York State has declared a state of emergency due to the heavy snowfall, which has created icy, unpaved roads and reduced visibility, making travel very dangerous.
