Smuggling network busted – 7.65 tons of motor oils seized, suspected of originating from Iran

The Kosovo Police TASK FORC - East Unit, also composed of Kosovo Customs, in cooperation with the Regional Investigation Unit - East of the Border Police, has carried out a successful operation in the municipality of Viti, after receiving relevant information.

By order of the Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan, during a search operation in a private warehouse, approximately 7.65 tons of motor oils, suspected of being smuggled from North Macedonia and suspected of originating from Iran, were seized. The value of the seized goods amounts to over 25,000 euros.

According to the KP, the goods have been sent to the customs terminal for further procedures. The case is being handled by the Kosovo Customs Regional Investigation Unit – DRK East, with a focus on identifying and prosecuting the persons involved.


"The Kosovo Police, in cooperation with other state authorities, remain committed to combating smuggling and illegal activities in border areas," the announcement states.
